EMC2 thinks of the energetic matrix as the "true self" of the individual. In other words, we are
beings of pure energy. The energetic matrix is the most fundamental expression of our true being. Energetic imbalances exist, not in the body or mind or emotions or other parts of us.
They exist in our energetic matrix.

In order to understand the AIM Program, a basic knowledge of the holographic model and how
it impacts the use of a participant’s photograph is helpful. According to the holographic model,
a photograph contains the vibrational energy pattern of the individual and therefore maintains a
dynamic energetic interconnectedness between the individual and their photograph. The
photograph reflects the ever-changing energetic structure of the individual from moment to
moment. The holographic universe model implies that the photograph is the personal hologram
of the individual and that hologram is actually a microcosmic replica of the greater universal
